More Benefits of Probiotics for Food poisoning

While food poisoning doesn’t have a cure, allowing it to run its course and work its way out of your body can be made more comfortable by using probiotics to ease the nausea and diarrhoea.

Probiotics are sold in supplement form or you can obtain these healthy bacteria by eating yogurt. Probiotics are bacteria that live in your intestines that promote healthy digestion. The reason they are helpful is because during food poisoning, the lining of your intestines can become damaged and the amount of helpful bacteria in your colon may be reduced because of excessive diarrhoea. This can be overcome by consuming probiotics.

Food which becomes contaminated with parasites, bacteria, viruses or toxins causes sickness when consumed and results in side effects such as vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain and abdominal cramping. Most symptoms last for one to three days, but they can last as long as 10 days. Most cases of food poisoning are treated with a modified diet and rest but probiotics can also help.

Probiotics have been reported to produce higher levels of immunity when taken consistently because these healthy bacteria actually promote the growth of white blood cells, thereby enhancing your overall health as well as aiding in the rapid recovery of foodborne illness.
